What We Do
Data analysts are responsible for the gathering, reviewing, and interpretation of data for whatever industry they work for, which in this case is the healthcare industry. You are likely to be involved in data entry, data reporting, data auditing, and data monitoring. Sometimes, data analysts are very specific in terms of the type of data they look at, others operate with a wide range of different types of data. They can work on their own or together with a team in order to properly collect, analyze, and present data. To achieve this, they may also work together with other professionals, including graphic designers, to make sure that data is presented in an easy to understand manner.
How to Become a Data Analyst
To become a data analyst, you will need to complete an associate’s degree at the very least, although a bachelors is generally preferred. Areas to focus on include business administration, information systems, and health care administration. You must learn to understand databases, software, the internet, statistics, troubleshooting, analysis, management, reporting, and more. This is why degrees in fields such as organizational behavior, data mining, statistics, management, or accounting could be helpful.
Training & Certification Requirements
There are no training or certification requirements for data analysts. However, it is recommended to complete Microsoft certifications in areas such as Excel and Word, as this will demonstrate that you are fully competent in using those programs.
